Solo training is often the most difficult part of a fighter's week. Without a coach shouting instructions or a partner to keep the pace, it’s easy to slip into a "good enough" rhythm that doesn't actually prepare you for a real fight.

We built Rounds Mode to solve exactly that.

It's not just a timer. It's a circuit builder that lets you script your entire training session, round by round — the kind of structure a coach would put together for you, configured by you instead.

1. What is Rounds Mode?

Rounds Mode (also known as Routines) allows you to group multiple FightFlow sessions into one continuous workout.

Think of it as building your own "fight." You might want two rounds of footwork to warm up, followed by three rounds of high-intensity random combos, and finishing with a focused Skill Academy drill to perfect your defense.

With Rounds Mode, you set it up once, hit start, and let the voice-led coach guide you through the entire circuit—including the rest periods.

2. Mix and Match: Total Flexibility

The real power of Rounds Mode is its versatility. You aren't limited to just one type of training. Every round can be a different "flavor" of FightFlow:

  • Quick Train: Standard random, combo, constraint, or defense rounds.
  • Drills: Footwork, hand, defense, kick, and elbow drill routines.
  • Skill Academy: Specific levels for defense, parry, or head movement.
  • Conditioning & Shadowboxing: Timed work/rest blocks or scenario rounds.
  • Custom Combos: The combos you built yourself — played Coached or as Pad Rhythm.

You can mix these in any order. Want to practice a specific custom combo in Round 3 and then move to random defense in Round 4? Now you can.

3. Custom Rest & Duration

Every fighter has different needs. Whether you're training for a 3-round amateur bout or a 12-round championship distance, Rounds Mode adapts to you.

  • Per-Round Duration: Set each round to 2, 3, or 5 minutes (or whatever you need).
  • Custom Rest Intervals: Choose exactly how much recovery time you need between rounds (30s, 60s, or even no rest for endurance killers).
  • Infinite Rounds: Build a 3-round warmup or a 15-round gauntlet.

4. Why It Matters for Your IQ

Training "randomly" is great for reactions, but training "strategically" is how you win fights.

Rounds Mode helps you develop Fight IQ by forcing you to transition between different mental gears. Switching from a tech-focused Footwork drill to an explosive Custom Combo round mimics the shifting momentum of a real match.

By the time you finish a 5-round Routine, you haven't just "worked out"—you’ve completed a structured training block designed to make you a more complete fighter.

5. How to Get Started

  1. Open the Training tab in FightFlow.
  2. Navigate to Routines (or Rounds Mode).
  3. Tap "Create New Routine".
  4. Add your rounds, pick your types, and set your timers.
  5. Save it, name it, and hit Start Session.

Your routine is saved locally, so you can come back to it every "Leg Day" or "Bag Day" and track your progress over time.

Final Thoughts

Rounds Mode is the bridge between "just hitting the bag" and "training like a pro." It brings the structure of a gym class into your solo sessions, ensuring that every minute you spend training has a purpose.
